Key Points
Keeping budget and spending in check, working to insure that measures are being considered to curb spending with a long range plan for future growth. Without long range planning taxes will continue to increase.
The opioid epidemic in Ulster County is out of control. Providing local and county law enforcement with the tools they need to fight this problem is only one facet, Education, awareness, and rehabilitation is the other component to help find a solution to hopefully battle and eradicate this awful problem that is ruining the lives of our families here.
The environment needs to be protected now more than ever. Ulster County is a very diverse area with dense mountain forests, major waterways, rich farmland, vibrant urban city life, and industry/manufacturing. Finding a balance to sustain the natural beauty of our County to encourage all of these extremely important components requires working with many stakeholders to insure ‘smart growth’. We must work with the community to learn about these issues and transfer what we’ve learned to help with decisions to come.
